Hey guys,
Check out the running tips from this Monday’s running class with
Ben. Don’t forget, City 2 Surf training every Monday at 12:15; see you all there.
Ben’s advice on technique was brilliant. I’m looking forward to implementing some changes into my running.
It was a good session, thanks for organising!
Sorry I missed it – thanks for the videos
No worries Kris, next time for sure.
Hope to see you at city to surf running classs next week.
We can go through some on Ben’s exercises
Learned so much in one session – we should get him back!
Really good session. We should have signed him up for the QF team for C2S!
Following on from one of the tips at Ben’s class, a quote from this month’s Runner’s World magazine on running styles for those of us who are “shufflers”.
‘Distinguishing features (of the shuffler): Little knee lift. (Arms are limp.) Shufflers run as if they’re in slippers. This could lead to back problems (“tick”), runner’s knee (“tick”) and tightening of the iliotibial band (“trifecta!”).
Try this: engage your hamstrings and glutes in the process – running should feel a little like a cycling motion. That means lifting your knees before you and pulling your heels up behind.’
Just like the man said.
If I’m not kicking my bum in running class on Monday, can someone do it for me please?
